Dear colleagues, we would like to draw your attention to the Goldschmidt 2011 session on Advances in Experimental and Computational Approaches to Mineral-Fluid Interactions (20d). The session will focus on interactions between solid geological materials and fluids at the Earth's surface and interior, which provide fundamental driving forces for geochemical cycling, transport mechanisms and their rates. These processes cover a wide range of spatial and temporal scales, from fluid flow at plate boundaries to reaction mechanisms at phase interfaces. Both the experiments and computational simulations define critical constraints on the equilibrium and transport properties, reaction paths, nucleation and growth and other processes from global scale to nanosize. This session seeks to highlight ongoing and emerging research in mineral-fluid interactions and their geodynamic implications, and we invite contributions from geochemists, material scientists, mineralogists and petrologists to address these issues. Keynote will be presented by Dr. Thomas Driesner (ETH Zurich). Please consider submitting your contribution to this session 20d. We would like to remind you that the abstract submission deadline is this Friday, April 15th. We are looking forward to seeing you in Prague in August, David Dolejs and Juro Majzlan Session Convenors -- David Dolejs Institute of Petrology and Structural Geology, Charles University Albertov 6, 128 43 Praha 2, Czech Republic Tel: +420-221 951 525, fax: +420-221 951 533 Web: http://web.natur.cuni.cz/~ddolejs
